The Blue Son

The Blue Son won the Channillo Short Story Contest for August 2020.  The story is about a new widow who adopts a kraken (octopus) left behind by her late husband. As the animal grows bigger, so does its appetite…for humans…Part horror and fantasy, it’s a story based in Vancouver with themes about parenthood, aging and gentrification. Enjoy!
